Ever considered friendship to be like money?
You win some.
You lose some.
Bring happiness to others.
Miserable misfortune to some.
Some are like notes…easily tear…others are like hard
coins! GOLDEN TO BE PRECISE.
When looking at currencies and how they evolve over the
years, we tend to see some of them losing market and value. The ironic thing
about that is that after awhile, those currencies eventually start gaining
value… The older the existence, the more it increases in value. People even
collect currencies for such reasons. Sounds odd but is very true.
And funny enough, same applies to our friendships.
Just like when you get a new note from the bank, you don’t
wanna use it coz its crispy fresh and you want to keep it for awhile…then you
eventually use it or it goes…some friendships are like that…when fresh…we are
super excited and all over the place and they tend to over shadow the ones that
we already have…after the note is gone is when you realize… “oh wait a min I still
have you around” the old ragged note that you hide in your wallet for no one to
see… or you get rid of them after awhile you realize its true value.
Some friendships are super fragile, under pressure, they
break (Notes tear) and others still hold on…may get dented but they still
struggle to stay intact till the end (Coins).
Most people would term themselves to be coins… PLEASE DON
NOT LIE TO YOURSELF…how many friendships have you formed, broke, walked away
from and moved on with your life? How many new notes do you have in your wallet
that are now old that you have to hold them together with tape? (It’s ok take a
peek, I won’t look or judge you, promise)
But that’s how life is… some notes make you happy but when
you lose them you come to realize they weren’t worth keeping comparison to an ancient
one that has added value in your life and the old note that has tape all over
it…
Challenge, how many people would you say are worth to be
taped notes and dented coins in comparison to the new shiny notes and coins you
have in your wallet of life?
