Your Eyes

They say, “The eyes are the openings to one’s soul”
Yours are the opening to an untold story; a story that leaves one to desire to know more and at the same time shut others out from knowing the unknown. Deep hazel; that brighten up each time you get excited to see someone, have a brilliant idea or simply standing in the way of light. Your eyes never give much other than “come again if you want to know more.” The desire that leaves many to wonder, “why?” if not, just move on with their life.
On the other hand, the cunning cat look. Brown in darkness and turn brown green in light. Scary would be one’s first impression but the adventure that lies past the sight is what takes my breath away. The ambition, anger, curiosity and selfishness are what control your eyes. At the end of the day, if you scare someone off then it works to your benefit for they were just a waste of time.
Deep colors like black, remind me of UFOs, “please don’t brain wash me…” was my cry when we first met. The fear of uncertainty would be running on my forehead with BOLD RED COLORS! Yet, with this fear, I shelter away from knowing the adventure and kindness that your soul possesses.
Blue; tranquil, calm and collected is what many would assume but do you always have your calm and collected side when your mind is fuming up with rage and you’re on the verge of exploding into 1000 pieces and cause world war 3? Or do you confuse me and lead me into wanting to see how deep I can swim into your ocean of life?
The environment; we should take care of it and conserve it. That’s what always rings in out mind when you think about the color GREEN. On the other hand, they say red heads tend to have more fun than blondes do these days and true red heads are known to have green eyes. Are their stories always about fun moments and bouncing around like bunnies?

I’ve learnt a lot from looking at people’s eyes. Some shut you out with a mere blank stare, others showcase their love, despire, sorrow, those who present fear, anguish, pain, anger and even uncertainty. It is true that our eyes say a lot about us, they do show our emotions and evidence appears when we break down…be it that we are happy or even when we are facing the lowest, darkest moments in our lives.
What do your eyes say about you?
Food for thought: Despite eyes been the opening to our souls, isn’t it true that we see more with the same openings been closed?

What if the shoe was on the other foot?

“You guys are solo dead when we get home,” were the words uttered by Ana. All she could think about was her warm snuggly red pajamas that she had left in her room with her cuddly bear ‘Mr. Snuffles’ and a whole packet of chocolate coated pretzels that she left on her bed. Wendy and Ruthie took one look at her and ignored the words that came from her mouth as they entered into the club. Trying to avoid events for this girl was her main strategy.
All looking bohemian chic with a slight hip hop culture in-tuned, these girls turned heads when they made their entrance attracting the flash lights towards their direction. “See what I mean,” wailed Ana. “This was not my definition of a chilled out girls night in you know.” “Ana,” growled Ruthie as they walked over to the bar to order for their usual Samba cocktails. “You needed to leave the house. You staying in sobbing was not going to change a thing. Get a grip of yourself and you never know what might happen,” smirked Ruthie as she got her cocktail and immediately got whisked off by an old friend. ‘Maybe she is right, I need to relax abit’ she whispered to herself as she watched people sweat their calories off on the dance floor.
An hour later, Ana found herself walking towards the exit, keys in hand and with one mission; team home time. She found herself bored to wits as her girls had left her all alone and were nowhere to be found. As she walked down to the basement to her car, she found herself 2inches away from a well physic man who caught her eye for a second or two. Examining him from head to toe, she knew he was not her normal kind of guy but she wasn’t complaining or even wanted to look away.
“Hi, off so early?” said the stranger with deep piercing brown eyes, dark chocolate skin, well chiseled body about 6ft1.
“Umm…yeah. Not my kind of crowd,” stammered Ana.
What is wrong with you girl? Get your act together,’ screamed her subconscious at her.
“You’re sure you don’t want me to change your mind?” he asked.
She shook her head and ogled at this wonderful creation that God had set in front of her.
“Well, though this might sound awkward but, I’d like to have your number and maybe tomorrow we could meet or something, if that’s ok with you,” he said with a dashing smile that she couldn’t resist.
“Sure,” she butted out.
With the exchange of cards, the guy hugged Ana, kissed her on her cheek and he disappeared into the elevator. She turned around, trying to bring herself back to reality and looked at the card in hand. Kody Geblano. Immediate distraction came across her when she felt her phone vibrate in her purse.
“Hello”
“Now you have my number. I can’t wait to see you again,” said a husky voice over the phone.
Ana smiled and replied, “Yeah, I now have your number, we’ll see about that.” With that, she hangs up and opened the door of her car. Got in, smiled at herself in the side view mirror and chuckled, “definitely a whisky drinker” and drove herself to her apartment.
The next morning, she woke up to find Wendy and Ruthie blacked out on the couches in the living room. With nothing to say, she passed them and prepped herself for her day. Her secret date with Kody would definitely leave the girls in shock because that was not the character that Ana was. It took a lot to for this little missy to agree to go on any kind of date.
The dates weren’t what Ana was accustomed to. Kody had much of a say in where they were going, what they would be doing and have her time always allocated to JUST HIM. “Does this guy forget that I have my own life and work,” she asked herself as she starred into her make-up mirror seated on top of his bed.
Day in day out, she wasn’t so sure about Kody anymore because he was more into himself and getting what he wanted. Control freak would not be the word she would describe him. POSSESSIVE CONTROL WEIRDO, maybe. Trying to fall in love with such a person was not Ana’s thing, especially after her heart was ripped out. This self proclaimed heartless girl found it hard to say the 8 letter word each time Kody said it to her which eventually led to a huge fight. Trying to make an independent girl to become a submissive mouse with no say was definitely going down as Kody was used to.
Ana sat and asked herself how she found the guy as a huge turn on, was slowly falling for his traits but yet have him leave her when she realized she was pregnant with his twins? Flashbacks came racing when the doctor gave her the results and she remembered Ruthie’s words “You never know…”

Is it really true that one can fall in love from the first sight that they see a person? They don’t know anything about the person? Not even their second name? What makes them happy? Their birthday? What disgusts them? Eventually end up compromising on one side? Does that really make sense or is anywhere near to been fair? Why do men even get the audacity to get the strength to hit women or even control them like they are their entities?
But what I don’t understand is why is it that men usually have this tendency of popping buns into girls’ ovens then leave them high and dry? What if the shoe was on the other foot? What would we be saying?
